What the Official Notice Covers
On October 14, 2026, KONAMI published a known-issues notice for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse listing three confirmed problems plus workarounds where they exist. The US, EU and Japanese versions of the notice carry identical content; this page transcribes the official guidance without adding steps of its own.
The notice also states that a patch covering these issues is in development and that KONAMI will publish a follow-up announcement when it is ready.
1. PC: Game May Fail to Launch (V-Sync OFF + FPS Unlimited)
Applies to: Steam and Xbox on PC.
The reported fault: the game may fail to launch when V-Sync is turned OFF and FPS is set to Unlimited.
KONAMI's listed workaround:
- Change your monitor refresh rate in Windows to below 60Hz.
- Launch the game and select Settings from the title screen.
- Under Video Settings, turn V-Sync ON, then close the game.
- Restore your monitor's refresh rate to its original setting.
- The game should now launch and play normally.
If the game still fails to launch after multiple attempts, the notice asks affected players to contact Customer Support.
2. Steam Deck: Some UI Elements May Not Display Correctly
Applies to: Steam Deck.
KONAMI has identified an issue where certain UI elements may appear partially off-screen on Steam Deck and states that it is currently investigating a fix. The notice lists no user-side workaround for this one.
3. Title-Screen Block With Certain System Languages
Applies to: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Xbox on PC.
Players using certain languages — mainly Arabic — as their system language may be unable to go past the title page after saving the game and quitting to the title page.
Official workaround: change your system language to another supported language (such as English) to continue playing from your existing save data.
Patch Status and Where to Re-Check
No patch date is given. According to the notice, KONAMI is creating an update and will announce again once it is ready. For anything beyond this page, the official notice itself is the authoritative source — it is linked in Sources below in its US, EU and JP forms (checked October 15, 2026).
